Backlinks are not the only option!

I have read this from so many different people on this forum and it's just flat out wrong. Everyone keeps saying "all you need is quality backlinks". This is simply not true. While backlinks may help you more than other methods, you CAN NOT rely on one method. Have we not learned anything from eZineArticles?

You guys who are pushing backlinks like it's gold need to realize that when Google decides they've had enough of this spammy backlink game, you are all going to fall off the face of Google. Concentrating all your efforts into one strategy, such as backlinks, is setting yourself up for failure, including your clients.

Anyone who knows a damn about this industry will agree that backlinks are the next thing to get an overhaul.

You need to still consider and use landing pages, articles, blogs, social networking, social bookmarking, ads and more to get traffic. If you practice 10 strategies and one loses value, you're site will not suffer. If all you do is create backlinks, you're in for a big surprise down the road.

 

of course backlinks are not the only option. Everything starts from content. you need a bit everything.

- Domain matters
- backlinks matter
- Unique content matters

and also Search Engine traffic is not enough. It should be balanced as you mentioned from blogs, social networking, etc.

 

Correct. Everything you mentioned also helps. I just hate seeing all these idiots posting here "all you need is awesome backlinks to win Google".

 

ummm. Aren't articles, blogs and to a lesser extent social networking and social bookmarking all popular ways of getting...>BACK LINKS!?

 

Quality backlinks always matters. Even if you have thousands of backlinks google will consider only those few quality links from the websites that is similar to yours.

 

If that's the only value you see in those methods, I'm sorry.

 

For the past five years SEO has been nothing about the quantity of links in my opinion, so I kind of agree. But it has been about links still - about the theme, quality and diversity of links. And I think it will stay that way for the foreseeable future - just getting more and more complex.

 

Curious about what you wrote. What happened to EzineArticles? I am under the impression they get a lot of Search Traffic. I was just looking at ranking that put that domain above all other Article Publishers.

Seems the developer, Chris Knight, is taking a stance on things will level off because of the content not the backlinks. Some food for thought, thanks for pointing that out.

 

At the moment there are only backlinks which are needed , we will see when there be other thing , till than just BACKLINKS .

these are in fact what most do to get backlinks. there's nothing new.

I agree backlink is not the only option however it plays the major rule for the ranking of the site and ranking of the keyword.

 

Agreed you with derrickschwan. Backlinks are the only thing they can use to gauge the popularity of a page.
You should also consider adding non-sales general articles somehow related to your niche as Google can now also measure how long people stay on the site.

 

Its simple really, Alot of Backlinks are meant to be a sign of a popular website. Building links yourself isnt what the process intended. It intended that if your website is useful, popular and is quality worth sharing then Google will list it. Backlinks is one of the more heavily weighted areas that Google considers at the time being to rank your website against your competitors.

There are alot of factors that are taken into account, but until Google overhauls PR and Backlinks, then building backlinks is the easiest way to rank in google.

If you are a true SEO expert you will realise that online marketing is about more than just ranking. Its about building a reputation online, showing clients and customers that you can be trusted, giving a good impression and wanting to attact visitors who come back again and again. E.g. I come back to Digital Point time and time again because it has value, I find the content interesting and want to return to find what is new.

At the end of the day a search ranking is only desired to get visitors/traffic/customers
