Its even here: http://www.google.com/base/a/3545206/D7449356527943872239?hl=en_US - and its not showing up as a back link...

One reasonable explanation is that your partner did not do the work he said he did. How far back did you look in Yahoo Site Explorer?

Another explanation is that sometimes when 3rd parties place your link on high PageRank webpages, your backlink only stays on the page for a short time, then it is bumped back to PR 0 pages. I know this because I purchased links that did this off of ebay. If the job was cheap, then this is what happend, right?

I don't plan on asking anymore SEOs to build my backlinks when I don't know the specific webpage(s) my links will go on. I used to. I solicit and buy my links from the webmaster of the site I want my backlink listed at. This is do-it-yourself SEO with peace-of-mind.

Next time, you can ask how long your links will be on the high PageRank webpages. Most people will be honest and tell you the truth, when you know what to ask, right?

I am 100% that the links are valid. And these links are all homepage links that stay 100% of the time. They all have high PR and its not showing. the url is aksplace(.)com

Can you manually look them up? Whenever we build links for clients we send a report where they can click the urls to see their links--live and linked to their anchor text of choice.

Not sure it’s a good idea to post or name the site, may end up being penalized.

Where are you checking to see the Backlinks? If you are talking about Google you should check in Webmaster Tools.

    Thanks Brian

Your backlink checker doesn't show specific backlinks. I just searched for my backlinks at iwebtool.com, then I clicked the # under Backlinks for Yahoo. What comes up is the webpages of my site, nothing else.

Most of the time, Google will not show any new backlinks. Yahoo is what you want.

Here's what you do: do a link:aksplace(.)com search at Yahoo, you'll see your backlinks there.

    1) The pages where the backlinks are indexed may not have been crawled and cached since the link first appeared.

    2) The links may be 'nofollow' and therefore don't give you any PR benefit - and possibly no link weight, either.

I checked out your backlinks - all the higher ones are all mostly 'nofollow', so I think you've been duped:)
