    Hello,
Could you help with a stupid question? We started up a site 2 months ago, have thousands of unique visitors, and have a partner ship program with several sites with a good page rank. A prominent news item, logo, and link are on the front page of their website and we know these sites are pretty high on google. We are going about this honestly and fairly with true legitimate partnerships with the goal of bringing users from their development sites to our storefront for purchasing as a distributor of their software and providing exclusive discounts that our competitors do not get.
Now that I've written a whole story, let me get to the punchline. We have been live for 8 weeks now, are listed in all major search engines, and we have zero backlinks even though you can visit them and see them right their on their first page.
I am uncertain what we are doing wrong. Since I am a new user to this site, and there is a policy of not publishing live links until later, I will be honoring that and am merely requesting your thoughts as to what the problem could be as I am literally falling asleep at the keyboard every night from exhaustion studying what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks guys and gals for even a 1 sentance suggestion.:)

If I get you correctly, you are unsure why search engines do not list your backlinks right?

If thats the case, please allow me to explain further. Google does not update their backlinks (in terms of the link: operator) immediately, it takes around 3 months for them to update the backlinks and they do not show all the backlinks. If you want to check for backlinks try link:www.yourdomain.com in Yahoo or MSN or my backlink analyzer :D

I hope i answer your question

Thanks for the response, and using your link I was able to discover that plethora of SEO tools. I found that I was indeed listed out on yahoo with 550+ links to us, but nothing on google as of yet. My brain hurts with everything I have been learning about SEO in the past 4 weeks. It's enough to drive one mad.
