Backlinks and SEO

    Just a quick question about backlinks. I am looking to purchase some signature links for my site which is a movie and TV review site. Its based on American Movies and TV.

    Would it hurt me to have sig links in Indian forums etc? I know backlinks are backlinks but isn't there a weight based algorithm or something ?

    Would you get sig links from a different part of your niche or ?

    Better to get in your own niche but the indian site won't hurt.

    You can get links from Indian sites as long as they belong to your niche. International links are fine if they are from the same niche. If you link to a site which is from a different niche, then it really doesn't matter if it's an Indian site or an American site. It doesn't have much value in terms of search engines.

    Indian links will not be much usefull to you , but something is better then nothing.
