Backlinks and Page Rank distribution in Google Webmasters disappeared

I have noticed a sharp decline in the backlinks mentioned in the Webmasters. I have checked my backlinking sites and still have almost all of them. I had around 1500 backlinks last week. And from yesterday it shows 900 backlinks - bizzare

Also the page rank distribution tab for my site in the Webmasters says...

'No data available. Please check back soon.'

I see both issues since yesterday - 07/26/2009 00:00 (approximately)
    Anybody else see this?

I've had issues with analytics data when trying to view it (only sometimes) so perhaps google is going through an update of some sort?

Usually no data is available when No page rank has been assigned yet or dropped to NA
Also i guess this may be because of an update

That probably can't be the case here: It had a page rank of 2 for the last two months. I still show around 980 backlinks, all the higher PR backlinks are intact, so there is no way it might drop to N/A or so.

But, talking about the updates, aren't updates only supposed to last for about 1-2 hrs? It has almost been more than 36 hours from when I have encountered this issue and still no change.

    Any more ideas?

I think I might have found the culprit :p

I have just noticed that webmaster is no longer tracking backlinks for the homepage?
I think I used to see just a '/' as the first row of that table. Butnow I don't see it? I directly see the next page with most backlinks. So, we are not tracking backlinks to home page anymore? wtf they removed all the backlinks on my homepage....?????

Can anybody confirm this , or atleast lemme know if you think we never had the '/' (home page links in the Links to your site section)

I've noticed the same behaviour, PR confirmed but a sort of cleaning of backlinks. It happened in Yahoo backlinks, too.

i think its more than 36 hours, I have 5 sites that are fluctuating since a week, Google went crazy this time.
July was my most profitable month, but since this update I have big drop in SERPS and traffic :(

another thing my back links in WMT dropped to half the original no.

My main site has had this problem for months.

The homepage is nowhere to be seen in 'links to your site'. Recently I also lost the next 3 highest linked pages from the list.

I've asked here and searched around but not found an answer to this. My site still ranks ok, and I can see the backlinks are still there. I have also read about some other people this has happened to, but no reason for it.

I fear I might have been too aggressive in building links and this is googles way of stopping me from seeing what it's got listed.

I'm going to ease off the linkbuilding and concentrate on content.

Should you find out what causes this, I would love to know.

I've had this problem for a month or so that I know of (hadn't checked for a while before that). Noc lue why this has happened. My site still shows in searches. Traffic is lower, but not like they had dropped me or something (not that I know what that's like).

I've never paid for traffic or links ever, so I don't think this can be about purchased links like they say in the guidelines.

    No idea what is happening.

    This is what I did.
Keep the text box after the site address vacant and then click on Find.
That gives you the links to the home page.
So, I have almost same number of backlinks, if I add these to the other total that is being displayed.
For some reason, google did not want to show the count to links to my home page.

I just took a snapshot and broke it into a tiny piece and here is how it looks

Prevously, I think we had the links to home page also in the table:
there used to be a row like this:

/_________________________________Number of Links to Home page here

But now they are not showing it anymore in the table. No idea why!

I have this "problem" too with pagerank not showing on the Google Webmaster tool. Not sure if I could call it a problem since it doesn't actually seem to be doing me any harm. But it sure is strange!

It´s been like this for atleast 2 weeks or something (I think at least) for all of my sites. But the pagerank is still intact, just doesn't show in the webmaster panel. The Google toolbar in Firefox is still showing my pagerank though.

No one out there that has a clue why it´s not showing in the Google Webmaster page?

I am honestly afraid, that this might have something do with with me adding .. may be a little too many backlinks? Just worries me if that is the case, and google is going to drop it to N/A like it shows in webmasters now.

I don't actually think that is the case. I have many sites in my Webmaster Tools, and some of them I haven't done anything too for months when it comes to backlinks and stuff, but they still shows up as N/A.

It keeps happening all the time with me and has nothing to do with your ranking. I had posted in their forum and all said that it is due to their system and google prefer not to show all the links. Whatsoever my ranking is intact.
