I apologize if this question has been asked before, but if it was a while ago, i suspect that the answer may have changed. My question is, in terms of grabbing back links, is my time better spent using forums like this one and including them in my signature, which would mean many links per day, or should I submit an article to a high PR database which gets me one backlink per day. I am concerned that google is onto the forum approach, and article databases may be the way to go...or maybe I am wrong. Is there a new approach that any of you are using?
second option is better for long term. forum pages usually have many outgoing links, which reduces the link juice for you. but since popular forums are crawled faster, they help your site indexed faster as well.
The way to go is to diversify Dir sub Articles SB Profile / forum links Forums links can help very much especialy if they come from very big or authority forums such as DP ..
Yes, i am agree with you.... Article submission backlinks are helpful in getting quality backlinks....
For google, not all links are credit to your site compared to yahoo where they base on number of links.
I would say your link building efforts shouldn't be just in one way. This is why I wouldn't focus solely on my signature links in the forums, but wouldn't ditch this link building strategy either. Even if sometimes these links are not "valuable" SEO wise, they do bring in traffic, exposure and sometimes clients for your services or products.
I'd say that article submissions were the way to go. Sure you can post alot on forums but if you wrote an amazing article and people out there loved it, shared it, linked to it, Google would like that a whole lot better!
BUT! You need to be pretty lucky to get some quality backlinks out of your articles. So, forum posting is the way to go if you want to have small results, but articles if you want big results.
I agree with everything people have said here. You want to vary your backlink building strategy and not rely on one technique. However if you are wanting to see quick short term results i'd say forum posts are probably your quickest way to build backlinks. Articles are much more long term though and a good article can be very advantageous for you.
A quality article can pay dividends; a poor quality article is worth just as much as you put into it.
Diversity as suggested is good. I have a blog post, and I built nothing except profile links to it so far, it only has about 5 links but is currently in position 50, which isnt good but i only put 30 minutes max time into it, so dont count good profile links out!
Two of my Forum backlinks (cached by Yahoo) have 188 & 157 other outbound links on the same page.. While the backlinks form articles have 73 and 92 other outbound links. So if we compare the ratio of getting website indexed through these links, article links should be ranking above the forums..
That's very simple to promote it online. The search engines will direct traffic to you, if you utilize the proper keywords and phrases. Also find an SEO optimization program and do some analytics on your competition. You will be able to determine, who they are and where they operate.
forum signature are best medium to get backlinks Generally if you are not spamming and providing information in forum you will stay without a problem and you wont need any approval. as a forum owner I like people participating and if they get link back that also do fol low I dont mind I only remove spam posts pure website promotion or links to objectionable sites like porn gambling replicas etc..
One great realization I had was when submitting these 500 word articles. You can write a 500 word article and get 1-3 back links to your website. For forums you can write 50 words and receive the same 1-3 backlinks in your signature. It's really a no brainer that the best roi is forums; participation can bring brand awareness and referral traffic as well. IP diversity is an issue though, so you should ensure you have at least 50 links from all these article directories before "retiring" them in favor of forums.
you can fetch links from the signatures of the forums. This is only the one way to fetch one way links from forums.
If you are gonna get forum links is better to get them from a forum with a similar topic as your site...
