backlinking from articles

I have a few backlinking questions in regard to articles and my article archive. All articles are original content in a niche industry.

    1) Should I only submit articles to article submission services that are NOT on my website? If i do submit do i need to stagger my entries or give them all at once?
    2) I have a section of free articles and a section of "pay for" articles. Should i only submit my free articles for others to distribute on thier site, or also pick specific "pay for" articles as well.
    3) If im building a archive of a few thousand articles should i even be letting people use them at all.

any help is appreciated, im new to the forum and learning alot.

If you are asking if you should submit articles written by other people to other article submission sites, but changing them to include links to your site, then I would say do not do this. It is unethical in the extreme and it will end up killing your site.

If, on the other hand, tyou are talking about material that you have written, then article submission sites, as you know, can be an important part of a site marketing strategy. But, it is just one of many activities which should be undertaken.

Its actually articles from a industry publication. We are now in the process of putting all the relevant articles online from the last 5 years. So all the content is original.

If you distribute them free you will have more benefits in the long run. More and more links pointing to where you want them and many more visitors. 2c

Great idea, however, I would submit them a few at a time. I would imagine it would look a bit suspicious if you started bringing in 1000's of backlinks all at once, course depending on the quality of the content this may or may not happen.
