Permanent Backlinks will stay permanently and simple backlinks will be gone after some number of days. Permanent backlinks are very good and they are better then simple backlinks.

Of course permanent will be better.
Permanent means the link will never vanish.
It will stay forever as long as the website linked to your site is exist.
But you have to know, build permanent backlink will not be easy.
Sometimes you have to pay it, sometimes you have to give something, or maybe you have to have some skills

Backlinks are good if you want to generate some instant traffic, but they will be deleted later.... Permanent backlinks will stay on a website...

actually lol'd at the replies above , there's no difference b/w the two , but in the case of a simple backlink , it might be moved or deleted by the webmaster ( which is rare ) . A permanent backlink is a backlink which is bought and the webmaster sees that the link is never removed/

Backlinks are backlinks, the term "permanent" backlink is just a marketing term used by those selling backlinks to indicate that the backlink will be up for a while (usually a year or so).

On the internet, there is no such thing as a "permanent backlink" - sites go down, they get bought, sold, and closed, owners get bored, articles are removed,,,,,,.

The only thing permanent, is when its etched in stone - and maybe not even then.

hmmm.. permanent backlinks do stay. do forum commenting, social bookmarking etc.. build links mostly on high pr sites coz it has more chance that if your link is approved it will last long but no one can guarantee that it will stay there forever

What do you guys mean by permanent?

A backlink is a backlink and will be deleted eventually.

    Cheers!

Permanent backlinks are better of coarse. Less work get more. Thousands of permanent links on other sites are required for seach engine purposes. Link building is the best thing you can do for your site in the long run. In the short run it's Twitter. Twitter is great for short term traffic surges and some regular traffic after your followers are built up. Link building is the best but it may take years and alot of work but the end result will be a regular moderate traffic flow. 1000 links on other sites is mimumum. 100,000 links and you will have a site you can sell for some big bucks.
