On the last update around November 25th my BL's went from about 60 up to 2320 in Google. Mostly because of the Ad Network. It's great.
my splash page shows a small increase in BL but my English home page shows 0 BL I hope it's just temporary...
its not looking too positive - hopefully it will settle but I'm starting to feel a little low about this one...
First my SERPS went down Thursday and now either late yesterday or overnight I lost 1000 BL's. I don't like this one. Pretty much wipes out everything I achieved over the pat month or two.
A splash page? No offense, but that seems like much more trouble than it's worth.. the language issue can be dealt with without having to effectively sacrifice a PR point. In my opinion there are virtually NO good reasons to have a splash page -- but maybe that's another topic
I work with a dinosaur who thinks Netscape 4, 5, 6, 7 are all the same as NN4, there's no way I can convince him to get rid of the splash page. I don't SEO it, only the home page for each language. --------------------------------------- My BL are back to what they were before the update
Give him/her credit thought -- most dinosaurs have a lot of trouble hitting keys on an average keyboard without pulverizing the keyboard...
I don't get it. Yahoo, AltaVista, and Alltheweb show me with 6k links, all up over the last week or few. HotBot and MSN haven't moved at over 1k and google still has the nerve to show 100+ and continuously drop links when i have had more people link to my site on quality pages. I had more backlinks showing in google several months ago and have got a lot of bl since. I dont get it.
The key phrase in your post is "backlinks showing in google" -- just because they don't "show" doesn't mean they aren't there. How are you determining backlinks?
No wonder I never had a sandbox as a kid.. My parents must have knew I wouldn't like one I have been checking my backlinks on google, marketleap, and the keyword tracker here. They all say the same.. I do find it strange that Google hasn't noticed any COOP sites as backlinks but all the other Search Engines have.. But then, due to my increase in ranking I know Google sees it. Of course they love to keep us guessing, but why can't they play fair?
They are playing fair -- to searchers by making it harder for webmasters to try to influence the search results.
Just this morning I have read about people placing ads on coop ad network with no content, adult sites, ... Then we have posters telling us to join their coop to click on each other's Adsense ads. Peolpe are copying sights right and left, cloaking etc. An ideal world it is not. Wish it were. Shannon
