Backlink Update

What do u guys think when is next google backlink update is going to be...

Does it really matter? The backlinks that Google display aren't even close to how many there actually is.

I think there is a link between the internal google PAGERANK and the backlink update. So I think it really matters.

OK, now I get it...That article seems to have been written a year ago. Things were different then and I agree with Weir 100%

 

I have written a program (VB.Net) to see if there is correlation between

SERP - BackLink Update

On the next Backlink update I know for sure if there is a correlation between the two

 

I'm just waiting to see if Compar turns up to share his knowledge on this

 

Unless they change everything round again. There is no way to be sure what Google do with the updates as they seem to be proactive in making sure people cant abuse their system.

 

The only thing i'm interested in is :

Is the Internal pagerank an on going calculated process or is it calculated once every month and how important are backlinks.

 

I know you won't find anything. That just comes from checking my Serps daily for the last two years. They move every day and there has never been anything out of the ordinary the day of or after a backlink update.

And I have had some major link campaigns between some updates so it would be pretty easy to tell.

Lol..Of course not. But backlinks displayed in Google are unimportant.

You are saying you think you will see a SERP boost the day backlinks are updated.

I argue they are updated internally nearly every day.

But what is the role of the pagerank ?

Is the pagerank calculated daily ?

I wanna watch and see when my serps are changing. Is it suddenly or gradualy propagated.

I have no data to back it up.

 

Waiting and trying to anticipate the next google backlink update is a useless process, google is always crawling new links, so there is no point waiting for an update.

According to Google guy recent posts in webmaster world PR is also calculated regularly.

However, you can always check whether your new links have been crawled or not.

 

Pagerank is updated daily as well (intern) only we see updates once every 3-4 months or so (users). But once you see it updated, dont expect that at the same time you see the changes. Those already happend internally probably days ago.

In the past it was at the same time, called the Google dance. Those dances are rare now. Only big updates (bourbon, florida etc) are real dances now. Except to that, google updates daily and you notice a new link with high PR probably in 48 hours, but the visual pagerank difference might take weeks / months.

There are still at least 21 Datacenters that have NOT been updated with the last Backlink totals.

So, the last Backlink Update has not yet been completed!

I evaluated my results so far and I think your (DirkJan) right. weekly (not daily) i can see some major serp changes.

And it seems to be website dependent.
