Those data centers have show pre-update stats for me since jagger. I don't think this is anything new.
what about google serps? are they updated only when the pr is? or do they update on a regular basis? i notice MSN updates serps on a regular basis, like weekly.
From what I can tell, serps are updated dynamically. Freshbot adds new pages all the time and it seems that deepbot crawled pages are added during some type of un-related update. This may be on a site-to site basis but obviously incurs some moderately large (week+) delay between the crawl and inclusion(not necessarily ranking) in the index. I'm no expert, this is just what I've seen in the first couple months of my domain's life. The jagger update was an algorithm change. This affects how google ranks sites. Backlink and pagerank updates are changes to the number of links google shows with the link: command and the pagerank reflected in the google toolbar. Neither miraculously change the ranking of your site, but seem to only be eye candy for the most part. I've read that google takes care of these factors dynamically as well, not relying on BL or PR updates to change the rankings of sites in the index, but gathering the information as it goes along. I wonder if these factors are taken into account when pages crawled by deepbot are added to the index (as has happened with my site). Someone correct me so I can learn something here.
so wait, if google updates the BL's and more importantly the serp's on a weeklyish basis, then why all the fuss over the pr updates? i mean should everyone be more concerned with the BL and SERPs? AGAIN, im new so maybe i still dont get it?
Now I'm showing 13K of indexed pages in the API again, only a few DCs where the backlinks are increased but each of those show a PR loss. Hope this isn't the case once its complete.
I'm seeing pre-jagger BL and SERP numbers, my sites had an important improvement in search positions during jagger, and now I'm seeing almost the same numbers I had before.
