    I bought a list of directories one time, and submitted my site to over 100 of them. It's a great way to save time as long as you don't pay outrageous prices for the lists and you get a good amount on them. Time is money.

    Definitely manually submit any links you create, though. Google seems to be getting better at picking up "spam footprints."

    Another useful online service would be http://zhift.com/dofollow/ Of course, analyzing your top 10 competitors would also be a nice channel for building backlinks.
