Backlink Question Regarding Server Location

Does anybody know if the server location affects the quality of your backlinks? For example I have a network of websites that are the share same keyword genre. I have them linked to each other. Would google regard these backlinks as "not as good" since I own the all the sites and/or if they are located on the same server would that affect anything? My primary keywords are geographically targeted.

Thanks in advance! I am new to this forum and have been really enjoying the resources here :)

Not if they are just a small percentage of your overall backlink profile. However, if the majority of your backlinks all originate from the same ip/server, then you could find yourself either penalised for link spam, or more likely they won't have much of an effect good or bad.

You really need to vary your links (location, type of site, keyword...etc)
