Backlink - Images?

    Hi all,

    If one has a banner with an alt tag assigned..will this count as a pageranked backlink towards the keyword name in the alt tag specified? If so, does it carry the same weight as a text based backlink?

    If the image is linked it will count as a backlink but will not carry the weight of an anchor text link. Always use the alt tag with your keywords though, and if you have a lot of images with links, try to vary the alt tag wording a little so it appears natural.
