I am certainly not in the favor of backlink generator sites, though I am not saying they are bad or something. It just , these sites gets you backlinks too quickly which may create suspicion for search engines about your backlinking practice.
I agree with rebeca and jhardy. backlink generator sites don't have us have goof backlink. They maybe say that their website have high PR, but why they get have this high PR? because thounsands website must put their backlink in our homepage, to have 1 bad inner backlink from them. This is no fair, right?
Google will penalyze if it get to know that a website's backlinks are generating through the software although through the software you can rank early website but then definitely will lower the rank early also.

Backlink generator sites can create hundreds and even thousands of backlinks (usually crappy) in only a few hours. Most certainly Google will penalize your site for this kind of stuff. My recommendation is 5 to 10 high quality backlinks per day, MAX!
For me quality is more important than quantity so having a few hundred top ranking backlinks is much better than having thousands with poor raking.
Some people say that they get good effect form auto back link generators. but for me they are totally waste of time. i always avoid them to be protected from any kind of problem created by Google. thanks

Definitely back link generator site does not give you a better solution of high PR. sometimes search engine refuse that types of back link that are created by those sites. So my be careful when you make any back link of your site.
Not only backlink generator site is harmful, any kinds of method of optimizations except white hat everything is too harmful.
