hi everyone. i am a bit new to the whole blogging thing. pls i need help

i realise that when i check for backlinks to my site, i get two different results.
when i check adding 'www.' i get 59
when i check adding http:// without the www., i get about 1200.

    how do i resolve this?

will it affect my google ranking? i use blogger. is there a way i can correct it from blogger?

Lastly, another question is that, is it EVERY page on your site that you submit to social bookmarking sites that is a new backlink? or it counts everything as one backlink?

Hi, your effectively using a sub domain of blogger.com for your site, which means you will have very little control over www or non www.

As your getting around 1200 for non www, concentrate your back links using the non www syntax

Make sure you set-up a 301 redirect that will all links will pass page juice to the www home page!

www and non-www of the same domain are treated as two different URLs. You should maintain the consistency and should always use the same URL version.

It sounds like you may have canonicalization issues. Basically, Google want you to indicate which URL you prefer - www or no www - do a 301 redirect on the non-preferred option.

    SET .htaccess

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{http_host} ^mydomain.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

This is the very best solution for your own website, but if i understand right he is at blogger dot com. In this case you can not do anything, so don't worry about it. The only option I can think of is to editing html under -Layout-, but have no idea how to.
