What's the best tool to check how many backlinks you have?

I've used one and it said I had 18 but I'm sure I must have more! I submit all my article to atleast 3 social bookmarking sites a time and we have over 100 posts on our blog!

    Ideas?

Yahoo site explorer seems to do an ok job. I really haven't found anything that finds all of them though. at least not one that doesn't want to charge me for it.

You should check your important inlinks manual or by a verified backlink tool. I had some problems with known backlink checker so that I decided to write my own.

I would check out google webmaster. It is totally free and I feel like the quality is very good. Statistics are not instant but I still think it is helpful to get tips from Google, seeing as you want to rank high in their results.

i wouldn't rely on just one for accurate results, use at least 2 or 3. open site explorer is good, linkdiagnosis is decent and yahoo site explorer should cover all your bases.

i agree with the putting your website in the google search bar approach. that will give you a good idea of what backlinks have been indexed
