Backlink check in Google and Yahoo totally different -0 in google 14000 in Yahoo

Hi guys,

just want to know.

My competitor who started at about 2 mths earlier than me has a pagerank of 2 in google and for me 0.

When I check he has like 7 backlinks in Google and 8000 in yahoo

I have 0 in google and 14000 in yahoo.

Why is there such a big difference?

Will that affect my Pagerank as I have 0? Should I follow my competitor backlinks in google and try to get a link placed in those websites?

Please help as my pagerank does not seem to be coming in. The site has been up for 6 months.

 

It is normal. don't worry about it too much.

You should log into Google's webmaster tools. That will give you a more accurate list of what links Google has indexed to your site. It takes some time for them to show up from the Google Toolbar and on other link checking tools.

I would recommend checking your competitors links and see if you can get links from those sites.

REMEMBER - Get links from sites that are relevant to yours and preferable with a decent PR.

 

Exactly right, G will not considered all your back links , but it's always gives weight to those links only and only if that link not containing rel="nofollow",
Though Google is bit cheaper to count Back links.

 

Did you submit sitemap to google. Also I will start directories submissions as soon possible...

 

yes true a sitemap helps, just patient it takes a while for PR to be updated. I read somewhere that Google does it every 6 months or so. with the time you have stated it must be soon

 

Don't worry Yahoo and Google are not the same in algorithm.Try to build links for your sub pages.

 

Google does not show all backlinks when queried. That is just the way that interface works. This doesn't mean that there aren't links that google is considering when it comes to both serps and pr. If you ask me, the google links interface is pretty useless.

 

Are the any suggestions on a good site that will show all your links, also do no follow links come into play on PR?

 

Does directory submission actually work ? I tried it once before but found NO results from it at all.

 

Hello Nismo I didnt have much success either from directory submission. Maybe its because a lot of those directories list your link on low pr pages.

 

it's not a reason to worry about it. is you google webmaster tools showing the same think?

 

all you need to do is have a unique content with your keywords and write mopre article sits that simple

 

Well, how can you say the directory has no result,... I always submit to directories everyday and directories give me a free backlink which will help to improve my SERp.

PR is not thing now. My Site's PR is 0 but I still got the first place in google. You should think on internal factor.

I am a bit puzzled. I submitted my site to open directory last year and it was showing up as a link when I checked my site on alexa. However I just checked a few days ago and the link have disappeared. Do they remove links onopendirectory or the problem is with alexa?
