BAckend Functionality

    Hi,

I'll be coding my own directory over the next few days and I was wondering what backend functionality paid scripts offer?

IE: What do these scripts allow you, the admin, to do in terms of adding, editing, deleteing links, billing people, etc. Maybe someone could post a screenshot of the admin controls for their directory, to help me get a feel of what's required?

It would also be useful to know what people submitting to a directory look for, not in terms of link quality or originality, but again, functionality - Do people want a PageRank/Alexa image next to their link, do they want to upload a screenshot/logo, should I allow edited anchor text, hover-over preview window, etc?

Also, payment: is it better to process card payments yourself (internet merchant account/v-terminal) or go through a third party processor such as paypal, nochex or worldpay?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

why not just download the free versions of these scripts and make a decision based on what you think is best.

I'm sort of looking for what other people consider a useful or necessary feature.

Although I didn't mention it in the original post, what would you change about your admin functionality to make it better/easier to use?

*My* admin functionality is nothing like any of the others, so I wouldn't be a good one to ask. :)
