Ok so the title says it all.

So if there was a domain that dropped and was going to be available in 2 weeks. What is the gaurentee of me getting it if I back order it. And if I do back order it and did not get it, does the registar refund the money?

Hmm ok thanks cause it was with Godaddy. Do you know if I can use the amount on just backordering or could I use it on like registering other domains?

Has anyone had success with back ordering a domain name? I have a domain that I want to buy and all attempts to contact owner have been unsuccessful. The site is a blog that hasn't been updated since last year and I have offered a substantial amount for it but no response.

You can use the amount only for another backorder On Godaddy.

If you are very interested in a expired domain, I suggest you to backorder it with many companies (godaddy, pool, snapnames, ...)

Just Pool and snapnames is what I'd go with...you pay nothing till the domain is yours, but still no guarantee.

please use your brain, backorder is no guarantee, it's common sense.
