I know it helps you to have back links for solid related sites...but, does it help you to link to other sites...even though they don't have a link to you?
What I mean is....I know its good to have back links from sites that have a high PR and have content related to your site. My question is this..is it beneficial to improve your site's PR by providing links on your site to high PR sites with similar content even if those sites do not have a back link to you?
I don't think so; however, I am not 100% sure. I think that if you are going to link out to people, you should just find some people and sell your links to them. But, to slip under Google's radar, just link to sites in the same niche as you.
yeah i found many sites which are pointing to the major website like. google , sun, msn and yahoo and i found that for that particular page they have no any BL, still managed to get PR 2 or 3, it;s my blind research.
I've heard that it might have some beneficial effects, but I doubt it. Otherwise every splog and spam site would just link to Google and get a high pagerank. Even if there is an effect, it is too small to mention.
Post your garage sale signs in the rich neighborhoods on sunday morning so you can raise your prices and clear out your garage. Same logic. Post links at quality sites, get quality traffic. Charity is good, but most are in business to make money.
