Back links profile pages on Web 2.0 properties

I'd like to ask if anyone is having any success using backlink's in profiles on high PR web 2.0 websites.

Example, you add a backlink to your "favorite sites" or "interests" Fields in your profile, and do this on as many social websites as possible.

I do wonder if carry any PR from the main TLD?

most of them are no follow, so they don't add any pr

 

even i tried some, and even the do follow become no-follow after some time as they dont want there sites to be spammed.

 

Obviously I meant ones that are dofollow - otherwise I wouldn't bother...

 

How many did you try?

I've certainly seen some movement in the serps, but I do wonder if the links will become devalued over time.

 

What kind of results have you noticed?

 

Do-Follow profile pages are an increasingly more popular way to get easy backlinks.

I still prefer article marketing over this strategy, but a combination of both will definitely improve your SERPs (assuming you do enough).

Profile links are all about quantity, while article marketing is about quality and quantity.
