AH! The OP responded to a PM I sent him, and he explain that he means specifically backlinks that showup in Google when searching for links... Google only shows a selection of links, even through webmaster tools. As long as tools like yahoo siteexplorer show your backlinks, and so long as a good percentage of them are dofollow, Google WILL be finding, and counting them... Checking in google using the link: command, or even via webmaster tools will not show you 'real' results. A good way to check on your backlinks is to check yahoo site explorer, then visit a small selection of the websites your backlinks are on... The go to google.com, and search this: cache:www.[website].com Have a look at google's cache of the page... see your link? - If you do, and the link is a do follow link, then it is pretty certain that it is indexing it as a backlink ;-)_ Make sense?
Guest post and paid link are some of other ways to get backlink in google, if you want you backlink to really count in google you must get link from relevant site.
Hey submitting only to Google directory does not create backlinks you need to do lot of other activities like blog commenting, forum discussions etc.
Well there is no such thing as Google backlinks but there are rather backlinks. quite simple backlinks are absolutely key to ranking high in Google. by submitting your site on Google.
Fastest ways for link building are.. Directory Submission, Guest posting, Blog commenting and Article Submission.
Easiest way is commenting on blogs in your niche, if you build a reputation for knowing what you are talking about, people will start linking to you, and your traffic will flourish
