Back Links Disappearing?

My Back Links from Ezine Articles are disappearing at a rate of 2/Daily.

Is this normal...? The Ezines get PR and Indexed very quickly because I know how to write them efficiently, but starting 2 days ago, it's like a black hole is sucking all of my back links away from the site. I had 11 but now there's only 7 and I'm just curious as to why Ezine backlinks get dropped.

it's natural for links to disappear however, ezine articles disappear would be odd.

It sounds like Google may be devaluing ezinearticles links. Such a move would make sense with so many people trying to exploit rankings through article directories.

It seems that google are gonna run out of ways to determine how to rank sites if they keep discounting everyones back links

It started happening after a recent pagerank update. Most of the backlinks are disappearing.

Are the actual back links being removed or are the methods you are using to find those links just not reporting them. Big difference.

Have the articles been archived. The move to an "archive directory" will change the link's path and therefore break the link. And most of the archive directories are "nofollow".
