Back links - country specific or not?

    Hi all,

As my serps keep jumping from top 3 to bottom 3 (ie they drop like 9,999 places when using the digi point keyword tracker), I presume that I need to beef up my back links.

Now the question is seeing as my sites are all UK specific, would I be better getting UK specific back links or does it not matter?

Also which is better... link from non related site with PR7 or link from related site but PR3?

    Thanks for any advice,

    Giles

When I see an opportunity for a link from a related site, I don't worry about it's PR or goegraphical location. I want folks who are looking for sites in my niche to find me.

Links on unrelated high PR pages aren't worth much for your SERPs IMO - especially if they are loaded with links to other unrelated sites (ie. paid links). They might boost your PR, but that doesn't mean much unless you are running a directory site and selling links yourself.
