hi, I am feel glade to became a member of this forum. I have some confusion between instances and backlink. plz give me a reply
to see a backlink we normaly use in google search Link:http://name of url.com/ for instances we search like this "www.nameof url.com"
Link popularity is the quantity and quality of the links pointed to a specific website. Backlinks are links coming from sites
A back link is when they actually link to your site. if you simply type in your domain name and come up with a bunch of results it doesn't necessarily mean there linking to you and even in that case they might be using the nofollow tag. To count as a link they have to embed it in there html as a link <a href="http://www.whateveryourdomainnameis.com">your keywords</a> Code (markup): If they just mention it and it's not hyper linked then its of no value. Hope that helps that was my best guess as to what you were asking.
I am also confused since reading your question, but yes, this is a great forum. I think by instances you mean how many of your pages of your site is indexed by google? the command site:www.mydomain.com will tell you that while link:www.mydomain.com will show you what other pages link to your page. you should do the link command in yahoo though as google does not show them all. I'm not sure if this answered your question, maybe explain some more what you mean by instances.
