    Hi Guys

I have set up a new website, now in order to generate a few backlinks, i have thinking of using web 2.0. Now the question which i want to ask is

1- Either to create a pages, (name of my website) on web 2.0 websites (sorted top 50)

2- Or create a general name (not same as my website name), put various news or related content and then give a backlink there

So please comment which option should i choose, or should i go for both

    Cheers
    Bil

I think you can use both, as long as you don't make them your unique sources of links. You will need other sources of recommendations and links, particularly from active websites related to the subject-matter of your site.

It may be best to develop a "brand" and use the brand name in your web 2.0 profiles.

Do both but don't forget about targeting relevant sites to drop links on. I'd go slow with the web 2.0 sites as well and make sure that you put content on there that is useful and not just spun/rehashed stuff.

I'd personally go with 2. You want to be relevant with your page, but have unique content. If you do 1, don't make too many pages.
