That's a good question. My site has just become PR6 as well and I don't really know why I'm happy about that ... Unless you sell links, Page Rank is not really important.
Question about getting a lower PR. I have a site that's been sitting collecting dust for the past year or so. I purchased a domain name and through up a splash page (just an image), but never got around to it. Much to my surprise, Google assigned it a PR of 4. A few weeks ago, I made some changes, completely changing the content (still a logo, and a sentence of text on three pages now) in preparation of another idea using the same Domain name. Looking at the new PR's I see that Google downgraded that sites PR from a 4 to a 1 My question is what happened? The site it still indexed btw. Don't get me wrong, I do think it is PR 1 material, but I'm just wondering what would make it go from a 4 to a 1. I was actually getting 4x more traffic with the new pages than with the old one.
www.flawlesscomputers.com I have been waiting forever for this update and I get a PR 1 ????!!!!!! I have links on the following sites (all but one relevant) and they've been there for the past 4 months: nerdhelp.com - PR 4 triviasecurity.net - PR 5 zolera.com - PR 6 ultraproducts.com - PR 5 THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE! Anyone have any ideas as to why it climbed from 0 to 1 ????
I's suggest reducing the number of META Keywords for starters ... Which Anchor Text did you use for the Backlinks?
The PR Buzz seems to have gained more Importance than it deserves. It doesnt even help in SERPs. Im unsure, why are we so much into it yet? Just because its Googles Valuation to our sites?? Well!! Hell Yeah! Goood Luck to all you guyz!! Remove 'Trademark' mark from your Title. And if your Content is duplicated or copy Paste... Then maybe thts the reason for your Bad PR.
80%! Where do you see that? Based on http://livepr.raketforskning.com/ 30 hours ago it was about 60%, 20 hours ago it was more like 35%, not its showing around 55%.
I agree, new PR has propagated to about 80% of the data centers. I've been checking it here: http://www.shoemoney.com/2006/09/29/pagerank-update-underway/
