Does link on comments of myspace counts?
I designed a banner for the holiday and was greeting around people... later on... I found few back links when I do back link check... So... does google count that as consideration of back links for PR?

yes it does count and it will show up in the search results. Not sure how much value there is though since they are all coming from the same IP.

    If that's the case...
There is no need to submit directories which has same IP...
Instead of submit 5, one should be enough?

If all the directories are on the same IP...the value of each subsequent link will be significantly reduced. Why? Well because there must be systems in place to prevent people from creating 1,000 directories (with domains aa1.com, aa2.com, aa3.com...etc) and then just doing a dump of their link database onto each.

Leaving a link in the comments section of MySpace is an excellent strategy...but only because of the potential traffic. People visiting that persons profile will see the comment, and if they are interested, will click on the link. How about this....leaving a link in MySpace comments is like leaving a link in your signature on the forum.

not really, a lot of myspace profiles are full of information, and sometimes even have PR, which a lot of them do ;)

Wow... great way of describing it. That totally make sense.
The link was a link which hosting my picture of the greeting so it's like getting free CPM from that person's home page. Some popular pipes getting few thousand page views per day and all you have do is just one simple comment. Although it doesn't stay forever... (most of them are around one week) heck... it's free and 99% of approval... as far as I concern... far better than submit to directories for traffic affect. Best of all... it's target traffic...:p

Well they are full of information, someitmes ;)

And no, not usually, if you ran a bot to comment on myspace profiles you would more than likely get a lot of PR links, more than if you ran a bot to post on these forums i would say

I think the backlinks do effect rankings, one tool i have on my myspace site puts the tool name on there profiles and i'm #2 with no other links

A forum is only as good as its members ;)

If you run a bot to comment on all those profiles...your account will eventually be deleted and then you'll have 0 links. Ask me how I know lol.

Another thing with myspace is that your comments can be deleted and/or will eventually be pushed off the page. When that happens...your link will be here:

    /index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewComments&friendID=1215198&MyToken=b55941b9-e181-42c3-b746-e952edfa0920

Good luck having google index that one.

I glad to hear that it does count, I just started a new site so all links will go to get my first PR!

But it's hard getting myspace users to leave that "universe" it's if it's a site outside myspace they dont want to leave
