Back link for a year: 2400 euro (PR4)

    All,

I have been buying, or trying to buy, links for a movie phones web site in Spanish. I've contacted blogs writing about mobiles and gadgets and asked them how much they charge for a sidewide backlink with anchortext.

These sites have all been PR3 or PR4. Most have run adsense only and a few seems to have sold, or at least traded, backlinks via their blogroll.

I did a little research here, and figured I would pay 60 - 80 USD a year for a PR3 or PR4 backlink from a decent, content relevant blog.

    Is this too cheap?

I received the offers ranging from 100 USD to 2400 Euros. Yes - that must be around 4000 USD - and this guys was living in Argentina and I guess you get a little more action for your money down there. Most were around 800 - 1000 which still surpriced me.

So - for pagewide content and language relevant backlinks, am I too cheap?

Or do these people lack a little sense of reality??

Well, in general, PR isn't the best thing to use to measure value of a backlinks.

That being said, nearly all of hte 3-pr4 sites in my inventory are in the $60-$80 per year range, and all of the prices are set by the publishers.

    I hope that helps.

I think they are way off the mark with those figures. It would be cheaper to create new content related sites and promote them to get PR3-4.

Best bet would to write some awesome content and offer it them for free if they leave a link to your site in tact.

the price depends on a few things, PR, quality & of course traffic

As a publisher, i tend to look at my Advertisers before i quote them. If they are running a business that can gain directly from my traffic, I will definitely quote them much higher than i normally will, and at most times, they are more than happy to pay me!

But for those, I know that they are only really looking for some link juice, the price might go slightly lower.

You can check the inventory of text link ad broker sites like textlinkads.com, teliad.com, backlinks.com to get more choices of PRx sites etc. that you want, etc.

Free free to use my site as a guide (signature link). I have over 700 pre-screened, quality sites in inventory, with most of them being PR3 and PR4.

All of them have been priced by the publishers themselves, so this should be a fair gauge of what the market rate is.

Interesting sums involved. So how many links would you look at if you were paying $60-80 annually for each? Also, how do you determine the value to you of them, is there any technique apart from their PR of determining value, or is it simply how long is a piece of string?

You should use several factors to determine the worth of a link, including (but not limited to) PR, Alexa, Google backlinks, Age of domain and number of outbound links. Here's my top 6 factors to consider when buying a text link ad.

I think your Alexa rank matters. Those who purchase links for sole purpose of increasing the PR are happy with the sites having good PR and no traffic.
But if the site has got good traffic, one should sell the links at higher rates.
