I am wondering how many back link with different PR, will grow PR to next level? Is there any formula likely?

And what about links post on forums? I find most DP member alway include their site's link, so that also grow the PR? If there are 1000 post, then there will be 1000 back link???

Thanks Richie_Ni, really great info, but I am confused about the order of the table: 2,795,522 PR8 links will make a PR1 site???

Yes, you will have 1000 backlinks :)

BUT how Google weighs them is a different story..

I don't think it makes much difference to PR. I personally include links to pages that may be relevant to this sites audience - for the free exposure of my site. This also makes sure that the link is context-relevant: a forum on internet/SEO/adsense and links to parts of my website on internet/myspace/SEO. Context-relevant links are more likely to be used by google to rank a website in the serps. (please notice I did NOT refer to PR as a motive - as PR is pretty unimportant in ranking these days).

I don't use my signature to link to those parts of my site that are about spirituality - though that is by far the largest part of my site. Those are unrelated links and therefore not likely to help me in the google-serps.

Remember a pr1 directory today can be a pr5 directory tomorrow. No link is useless in my opinon. :)
