    OK, so here it is...

I've downloaded a freeware called Back Link Analysis from http://tools.seobook.com/backlink-analyzer/, installed it and it says that to run queries on Google I need to have Google API.

I went to Google API site at http://code.google.com/, but I was puzzled by so many API to sign up. I then picked Google Data API, place it in the software but it still cannot run any queries on Google.

Any idea where have I gone wrong ? Which Google API should I sign up ?

    Thanks for the help :)

Never mind guys, I know why people don't answer...

Google discontinued SOAP API back a while ago in 2006. It means we cannot get SOAP API anymore.

Just wondering, why they won't help, is this so foolish to answer ? I thought forum is for people helping people.

Use Google AJAX API. Search Google for "JSON". Learn JSON to better understand AJAX API response. Use Javascript or PHP to get linkback count or indexed pages count.

Doesn't this fit against Google's terms of service? No automated queries!

You can use random time-out in range of 1-9 sec. So it will looks like no automated queries. :D

Maybe I should just sell my Google API code for 100k? Next hot item on ebay? Or is that against the TOS?
