It went very well, although I'm exhausted. Hospitals have to be among the least restful places to try to sleep. I can hardly wait for the incisions to heal. He didn't need any blood, so that was a huge relief. Gage doesn't seem to be having too much pain from it either. I'll be so glad when he gets his helmet to finish the reshaping.
Steph, I am so glad for you that the worst part is over. Well done to little Gage. Sending you wishes and kisses.
This is great news, Steph. The angels were with you and your family in this trying time. Now you can put it behind you and move forward, I hope everything goes as planned.
A lot of kids are born with skulls that are not normal TOOT, the helmets are just like a orthodontic appliance to reshape the mouth. Great news SF, we are glad you have the chance to tell us and get some of the stress off your back. Good one, hang in there.
He will have about 3 months in the helmet. For those who missed it, his condition is called craniosynostosis, which basically means his head was long and narrow. Not life threatening, but slight possibility of mental issues, from attention deficit to retardation, so well worth fixing.
i'm glad everything went well and you are back safe and sound. you are right, hospitals are the worst place to rest - especially if you aren't the patient!
