Hackers Assault Epilepsy Patients via Computer There's a lot of hot air blowing around about "Anonymous" and the Chuch of Scientology being culpable (see comments on slashdot, digg, or any IT/security site that picked up the story), but I know it was just /b/tards on 7chan being stupid.
"Anonymous" has nothing to do with this attack. This was almost certainly done by a few scriptkiddies without any brains.
PHPGator, the attack was real and occurred just before Easter. They tried to attack my forum 3 times before hitting the NSE forum and then the EFA forum after that. I've got a copy of the thread on 7chan where the kids instigated the attack saved locally.
Thats not even funny. Epilepsy kills people, it's not a funny thing to cause someone to have a sesure. It is the kind of thing those 4chan c*nts would do, but i'm not sure if they did or not. The people who did that shouldn't live. Might be harsh, but eye for an eye and all that.
I didn't have the resources to pursue much more than inquiries when they attacked CWE last November, but the EFA is a multi-million dollar non-profit and has a legal department. They are in contact with the FBI and there may yet be some fallout from this. Time will tell.
