[b]Joomla vs WordPress[b]

I dunno is this the best place to put this thread ... but someone will moved ...

So ,what you prefer ? Joomla or WordPress ?

I looking in a couple Joomla templates ... LOL they still use $table$ .... and find out some more thing which I don't like but which is better way ???

It, of course, depends on what you want to do. If you primarily want a Blog then Wordpress is by far the better choice because it was made for that purpose. If you need more site features such as forums or polls, then Joomla may be a little bit easier.

It's true that a lot of Joomla templates are not standards compliant (use tables for design) but you can always find ones that are or make your own.

 

I prefare Joomla over WordPass but.. suit your self

 

I find Joomla! really easy to get around once you know where everything is. No experience with WordPress though.

It really depends what you want the site for.

 

wordpress is very simple and full featured. I use wordpress multi-user available at http://mu.wordpress.org

wordpress MU lets you make thousands of blogs on the fly with subdomains, and then you can flip them to top level domains instantly without having to park them and do the DNS changes.

Of course it does take a little more knowledge to set it up, but if your technical you can figure it out.

 

my choice is wordpress. Wordpress is more friendly for search engines than Joomla

 

it all depends on what you want to achieve

if you want a blog then wordpress if you think you may need a directory and forum and a load of other additions then joomla every time. joomla is much more powerful but a lot less used than wordpress.

think about what you need.

i have a site which uses joomla great for everything except for charging for things. and i cant seem to get it to work and no one seems to be able to get it to work either.

the supporty for joomla is sort of fractured but if your good with php then go for it

 

But which one is really better ? I known how is WP working on some ordinary hosts .. LOL ... site is so much slow that you think that you r on 64K speed LOL
even 200 UV make him slow ... I konw that happening because plugins but is there why to avoid that ? OR joomla in this case is much more better ?

 

Theres some major things that work on WP straight away (once configured)

SEO friendly URLS /Permalinks ( with Joomla its a component ..)
Email to BLOG ( with Joomla its a component ..)
And also the PING updates..

I have used both and prefer WP but Joomla has tons of modules...

What kind of site you interested in?

Speed wise Im not sure.. but Joomla prob has lots going on with bots etc..
