Awstats shows "DMOZ" - but no listing?

Discussion in 'All Other Search Engines' started by solid7, Sep 7, 2005.

Just yesterday, in my awstats, I noticed that I have a "Links from an Internet Search Engine" listing, from DMOZ. However, when I search the ODP, I do not find my site listed.

Can anyone explain to me where this mystery "DMOZ" search engine result is coming from?

    Thank you.

Did you submit to DMOZ? if so maybe they are reviewing your site but haven't listed it yet.

Yes, I have definitely submitted it.

But how would they be able to review it from their site, if it weren't listed?

I'm really not the one to ask about DMOZ but I assume that when an editor checks your site they have some tools which would spider you to see if everything meets their "standards"

    [/wild guess]

Perhaps it's DMOZ editors checking out your site while reviewing?

Don't worry too much .. it should disappear within 1 or 2 weeks time.

If the editor love your site, then you'll get a link from DMOZ directory.

If not, you wouldn't see any links from them anymore. As simple as that

From what I have heard DMOZ is no more, I don't think they are taking new listings anymore.
