Im having a problem with my awstats on my php website. About 3 months ago it stopped tracking and when I hit the update button it gives me an error - Error: Failed to write temporary history file
.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong.
Check config file, permissions and AWStats documentation (in 'docs' directory).

my Webalizer stats stopped working at the same time. I do not have control on the cpanel to change the website statistics program. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    Two things spring to mind:

Chmod the stats directory to 777.
Check your disk space, you might be running low.

    Hope that helps.

I played with Chmod with no success before, but didnt think about disk space so
I checked and I am out of disk space. If I make a back up of my site can I upload it to a new host?

why don't you upgrade your hosting package with your current host? It should be fine for you without loosing info.

Why don't you contact your host?

Besides the possible problems guys mentioned, there's also a CPanel bug causing this.

It was lack of disk space. As soon as i deleted an unneeded file to free up it worked like a charm. I did contact the host but they did not respond yet.
