*Phone Rings* Sales Lady: Hello this is blah blah blah from Microsoft AdCenter-- Me: Oh hello, I'm sorry...I'm just really not interested in what you guys have to say so do you think you could please take me off your mailing list? I've switched to Google AdWords because my ads werent getting enough attention from adCenter... Sales Lady:...(awkward silence) Me: But thank you for calling... Sales Lady: Ok, just to let you know there are some things we can help you with to get your ads more attent- Me: No, im just not intrested, sorry. Sales Lady: Have a nice day Me: You too.
Doesn't sound awkward to me! Sounds like you had complete control of the situation.. I've never heard anyone say anything good about MS adCenter.. Wonder why.. rofl Good on y'
Managing adcenter has actually been a lot easier since they launched the desktop editor. But if the ads are not converting for you...you are right to switch to Google: that is the most important part about the campaign
adCenter has its place - some areas can have some great conversion rates (beating both Google & Y!SM) but of course if it doesn't work either try to fix it or stop wasting money!!
i have to say, i was pretty impressed with the ysm guy who called me in the middle of the day with about 10 thousand tips on how i could improve my campaign...you'd be lucky if you could get into contact with anyone at Google - atleast on the adSense side, i don't know about the AdWords side- might be better.
I was ripped of by Microsoft AdCenter myself. Instead of 0.10 cents per click they charched me $1 /click, they say because i did not place the 0. in front of 1 However they do not have a warning system in place to ask you "Are you sure you want to bid $1 per click ????!!! instead of 0.10 cents ??? " Not very nice of them, and after all it's not in their interest to warn me or others about bid mistakes.
It sucks you were paying so much, but you can't expect them to warn you about a price you entered yourself. I would understand if you put .1 and it charged you 1.0, but not if you just accidentally put in 1 instead of 0.1.
Actually I lost a bit more money than what I mentioned. I did not want to say it though. The $1 thing was an example. Try to put [example] $30 instead of .30 and see if you get a warning.
Ouch. I would think they would have some sort of warning if it went over a certain percent of your budget. Of course, they make money of it so there isn't that much of a motivation!
Realise you were talking to an individual that worked for Microsoft Adcenter. Unnecessary unpleasantness to that one individual.
What? your speaking in sentence fragments here so I'm not sure what your saying. If you are saying that I was unpleasant to the AdCenter rep, than I would disagree with you. I was very cordial ... pretty much as kind as you can be to someone you don't want to talk to.
I am running a campaign in MSN search - is this targeted only in the US? My offer applies only to those in the US? Please advise.
