Awesomeproxies.com rip off

I'm sick and tired of buying text-links to raise my PR and traffic and after a couple of days, without warning, to see that the site I bought the text-link is being sold without even my text-link finishes the first month I've paid!

Please everyone that bought a text-link for Awesomeproxies.com post here and tell me your opinions about that. Am I the only one that feels like a sucker?

    cheers

How much did you pay for this link? That's blatant theft if they took your money and then ran. The scummers.

    thanks for replying CountryBoy,

I payed only $5, but it's not about the amount of money, if you know what I mean. It's about how reliable is someone that manages a website, advertise his services and one day he decides to sell the site without thinking his clients.

BTW, I paid for a month and my text-link last only two weeks!

Basically, we all bought text links for AwesomeProxies.com and everything was fine until the original owner sold the site to a scammer. When the new owner got hold of the site he removed all of our ads and just stuck one google ad on the page, see for yourself. The new owner has removed everyones paid links without a care in the world.

The scammers username is footodors and he is active on this forum.

In that case I think you guys have just been unfortunate. I don't think the law requires the new site owner to honor a contract made by the previous owner, although it would have been polite if he had done so. It is the original owner who has failed to deliver the goods - maybe you should ask him/her for a part-refund.

The original owner is of course responsible, but remember that the original owner made a deal with the new owner to keep the links. The new owner have to honor that deal. I think that if somebody should get a red here its the new owner.

countryboy is right. It's the original owners fault. He sold the site before mine and some others ads time finishes?

So we have to do with two kind of scams here. One is rochow that sold the site without saying anything to buyers and not waiting for their ads to be fully delivered. And the second scam is footodors (stinky name btw), the new owner, that he didn't kept his promises.

So, I ask you people, who is the bigger scam of two of them? (I'm sick of those dudes!)

you're not right Login. roscow didn't sign any papers with footodors to keep the links. roscow is responsible for that situation. My red goes (already did) to roscow.

In the real world, if you sell a company that have obligations, and the contract are mentioning those obligations, the new owner and only him are responsible. Legally I do not see how something else should apply here. Thats the legal stuff, ethics is another story.

I am not personally involved with this but have read this thread and want to say that when you buy a website you do not just buy the files and domain, you buy everything associated with the site. Including any contracts that the previous owner had. Now if the new owner was not informed fo the contracts prior to the sale he has full right to ask for a refund from the old owner, but if he decides to keep the site he must honor the contract to the best of his ability.

If we're only talking 1-month links here, as seems to be the case, it would have been much easier (and less controversial) if the new owner just waited for a while until the link rentals had expired. Less stress all round.

It did not happen because the new owner (footodors) is greedy.

No wonder all my traffic from awesomeproxies.com dried up! Glad I found this, I was planning on posting something myself about how the new owner better keep up the marketing or I'll have to cancel my paid link subscription.

Honestly, I cannot see why Papapman is putting the blame soley on me

I told footodors that he/she has to keep the links up for atleast the period of time they had been paid for, the same as in any sale. Once the domain was transferred I have no control over anything.

I gave the new owner a list of information, including subscribers date of purchase, name, email, website. Everything he/she needed to know.

I have PM'd footodors repeatedly about the links and received no reply. He/she knows what he/she is doing is wrong.

From Me to Footodors, Jan 8 (Day I sold the site)
From Me to Footodors, Jan 12
From Footodors in Reply, Jan 12
Slava is right. The new owner is obligated the honour the contracts. He was given a list with all subscriber details (name, email, what type of link, website, date of purchase) and was told as quoted from. Not to mention he even said he would.

It was never my intention to sell the site and lots of people know that I loved the site. At the end of the day, I needed the money and had to sell both AwesomeProxies and PenguinProxy

There is alot of anger and rightly so, you might want to take a look at who you are being angry to.

Trust me guys, Rochow is not the guy that scams people. He really is a reliable and trustworthy guy, Footodors is the one you should blame!
