Awesomenauts is a really fun game that was released on PSN, XBL, and Steam later last year. It is still one of the games I keep coming back to. It is essentially a MOBA, which is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, pseudo similar to DOTA or LoL. Just it happens to be a 2D version with guns and special abilities. Each team has turrets, similar to towers in DOTA, that you must defend and push the enemy's turret down in order to advance to the solar drill core, similar to base in the aforementioned game. Premise is similar, but it can be played with a controller. People tend to be a little bit nicer if you die in this game, than if you do in DOTA. Awesomenauts has player brackets so you're put into a league of similarly skilled people. Whereas in Dota, you can play every match against super pros. I have it on steam and I've played it a few times. A word of advice for anyone interested in trying it out: Don't bother playing/practising with bots when you're playing for the first time. In other games, bots are normally easier to play with and beat, but this game is an exception. Go straight to playing with other characters; they are a lot easier than the bots.
That is very true. Some of the bots are near impossible to beat, except when they are on your team. Then they are usually challenged and awful. Clunk bot = fail...
