(No, I don't work for this company ) I would just like to mention the best eCommerce cart I have ever worked with, OpenCart. I used to spend tons of time hacking away at osCommerce, and don't get me started on the horrors of the monolithic Magento cart. Anyway, these carts were very hard to program with (as most PHP programmers will probably agree). osCommerce's code is very convoluted and hard to follow. Magento is gigantic and sluggish on anything but a dedicated host. So, I spent weeks researching shopping carts. I finally found OpenCart, which employs the MVC style of programming like most PHP frameworks also use. Creating addons, modifying existing addons, or just modifying the default CSS template have all been a breeze. Just thought I'd spread the knowledge to my fellow PHP/MySQL programmers!
pfft, Magento kicks that stuff in the nuts. If you understand MVC, then you understand Magento. Nigel
It COULD kick it in the nuts, assuming it wasn't bulky as hell and would work on standard shared hosting!
After much research I use Magento. And I ONLY use Magento. I hate oscommerce or zencart. The layout of the default cart is important, you do not want to waste too much time customizing it too much. But I really gotten used to Magento and know my way around it pretty good not. Nice cart and lots of features. But my complaint about Magento is that it's very sluggish and slow. Maybe I'll look into OpenCart.
Yeah i also vote for OpenCart, its powerful feature and easy to use that is much better than other premium ecommerce solution.
