I am probably being naive here, but my host uses cpanel and I was wondering if there are many really compelling reasons for me to sign up and have to pay for aweber when I have a free autoresponder available to me. I am really not looking to pay for an autoresponder right now because this is my first attempt at building a list and I want to see some income before I spend money on aweber. So, unless there is some major flaw with the cpanel service I am going to use that. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rebtl
the problem with building a list through your host is the problems you might later encounter. A subscriber could literally accuse you of spamming and have your host shut you do down (even though there is a unsubscribe link) there would be too much hassle in doing so. The more subscribers you get the more load your gonna put on the system when your sending out the email. Imagine sending out 10000 email, you would probably crash the system. This a problem it self......You've worked hard to build this list and now you want to decide to move it to aweber because its more powerful and safer in terms of spam etc but now you have to send an email to your subscribers using your webhost to subscribe to your new list, I bet you'd lose quite a few subscribers. In the long run, go for aweber. Trust me and believe me that when your list gets so big your gonna wished you had signed up to aweber first.
You shouldn't be confuse between these two. Cpanel Autoresponder is not use for marketing. Usually people use it to auto-reply an email automatically. Let say when you're on a holiday, someone have send you an email, then the system will automatically send an email to that person saying you're on a holiday. Aweber is mainly for marketing where you can capture people data usually their name and email address through a form and become your mailing list. Once become your mailing list, they have an option to unsubscribe which is good for them if they don't want to accept any info from you anymore.
nguyen, Thanks a lot for the insight. I see your point, I will wait until I can afford aweber and do it right. dynashox, Also thanks, I didnt know there was such a big different in the two types of autoresponder
If you want a free autoresponder like Aweber, you can try http://freeautobot.com/. But don't expect it to be as good as the paid one.
The CPanel autoresponder is really just an auto-reply. If you've ever received one of those messages that says something like, "I'm away from my computer. I'll get back to you later." then you've seen one of these "away" autoresponders. What you really need is a sequential autoresponder such as offered by Aweber, GetResponse, or TrafficWave. Systems like these let you build your list of subscribers and then automatically follow up with your sales letters, broadcast special offers, etc... You can also track your open rates, click-through rates, etc... An AutoResponder is an absolute "must-have" for any serious marketer. Whether you go with Aweber, GetResponse, or TrafficWave, START by getting a real sequential AutoResponder. Use the right tool for the job.
Hei thank you for this question... I am also have this kind of question... I am already try freeautobot but it so slow went I am test it.. I try to find free autoresponder but it doesnt work. so my plan now is to get one account at aweber or getrespond.. but i dont know witch is the best for me... I will try to compare.. any suggestion
Mister Michael Nguyen is right. I have been using aweber for years and the service is good. Goodluck to you
Thanks a lot for the help everybody, I will definitely go with Aweber or another "real" marketing autoresponder.
Yeah, think of the cpanel autoresponder as the equivalent to "vacation message" on hotmail or gmail. To be perfectly honest, buy aweber - if you don't think the $20/month is worth your efforts than you might be in the wrong business.
