AWD's Portfolio(Pro designer)-Opinions wanted!

Hi guys,

I recently got back into the "design game" after a short break and i need some opinions regarding my portfolio:what do you think?what needs improving?something like that.

Could you also please rate my portfolio from 1* to 5* by posting here and why do you think i deserve that mark?what didnt u like about my portfolio/skills or what you liked ?

Please guys this is quite important since i do want to get better and need some opinions,so criticism is welcomed!

pretty intense, the recycling design is certainly the best, not so sure about the first free time image but still pretty good, the only issue was it took quite allot of time to load, but its hard to get around that, were these pieces for real projects or just mockups

 

Well...mostly of the designs i made were for contests held on DP or crowdspring.I've decided to participate in contests since i neaded to rebuild my portfolio and sharpen my skills since i was out of the "game" for a year and my portfolio wasnt showing my real value.

 

I really like your designs, especially the last couple illustrations.

 

well, web design isn't really my forte so i'll critique your first free time work. first thing that hit me was that it was oversharpened/overcontrasted. you lose a sense of depth when you flatten and image and just oversharpen the whole thing. having heavy contrast isn't always a bad thing but for that piece i think it may detract. some of the lighting and blending could use some work as well.

but, it's a good start man.

 

I am a big fan of "abstract" designs. I like the fact that alot of colors were incorporated.

 

Thanks for your critique,this is exactly what im looking for.I've also noticed all the things you've mentioned but after approximately one week after i've design it,during which i was doing some webdesign work so i didnt had the chance to tweak it.If i remember correctly,that was the first project i've done,after i decided to get back into the "game".

Very nice! Although you want to make sure only the BEST works get into your portfolio. I would disregard the first 2 and the last. The third website is absolutely beautiful and you must keep that in your portfolio. I would love to get to know how to make sites like that but i just havent branched there yet. I have so much i wanna do! thank god im 17!
