There are many ways such as finding uses for discarded items, recycling, and using alternative energy sources. The problem with going green is that it cuts into the profits of the large corporations and they have very little incentive to make the planet healthier.

On a serious note, plant trees, use solar and other alternative sources of energy, do not waste water, walk where you can, etc.
I've heard that the #1 easiest thing anyone one consumer can do to help ease the pressure on Earth is to go vegiterian. If nobody eats meat then we wouldn't have to farm so many cows, chickens and all the other livestock on the world. The worlds Livestock produces more harmful gasses and pollution than all of the cars in the world combined! Don't be wasteful, reduce, re-use, recycle and compost if you can. Don't buy things you don't need. Respect the Earth/Gaia and love her as you would your home, keep her clean, don't pollute or throw garbage out your car window or anywhere else where it will just end up lying on the ground somewhere. Turn off your lights when not in use and don't overly use lighting. Make improvements to youre home such as solar panels and other ecofriendly improvements. Buy locally grown produce and groceries.
