Hi all. On July 9th - 10th my wife will be doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. She has been training and fundraising since January. She has been training very hard to prepare herself for this long walk for breast cancer. She is current a little under 2/3 of the way to completing her fundraising goal. The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is about raising funds to help those affected by breast cancer, and about increasing awareness of the disease. Did you know: that a new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes?* (* U.S. Statistics; American Cancer Society) They will walk 39.3 miles over two days to show their strength and commitment to fighting breast cancer. They are dedicating their time to raise funds to provide access to care and find a cure. Most importantly, they walk because every three minutes there’s a new reason to join us in the fight against breast cancer. Each walker commits to raising a minimum of $1800 for the cause. That may sound like a lot, and it is. We want to raise as much money as possible to continue to provide access to care and work toward finding a cure for breast cancer. I would really appreciate it if you could donate to this fund raiser. Anything helps. You can go to this domain that forwards you to her Avon Walk for Breast Cancer page: http://www.emmacouhault.com Some mind blowing facts: 1. It's estimated that three million women are living with breast cancer - and one-third of them don't know it yet. 2. A new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes. 3. Breast cancer kills approximately 40,000 a year. That's one every 14 minutes! 4. No one knows what causes breast cancer, or how it can be prevented, and there is no known cure. 5. Men can get breast cancer, too. *There is no cure for breast cancer. Early detection is still the best defense.
