avoiding the spam filter

I am looking to create a basic email subscription service where I send out information either daily or weekly via an email to people who have subscribed to my list. What is the best way to go about this as I don't want the emails going straight to the spam folder. Are there any hints, tips or a guide someone can point me to in order to make sure that my emails stay clear of the spam folder. I only have ever used the mail() function, which I find always makes it to my spam folder, so I have limited experience in this area.

    Thanks :)

I encountered the same problem. It could be a few things:

    - Your mail content/subject/sender/etc looks spammy
    - Your host doesn't have an spf installed

If it is the second, you need to ask your host to install one for your domain. You can search on google for spf record generators.

Other than that, I don't know..;)

try sending the email from an address on your domain example: as many email providers check the ip addresss of the server sending the mail
