It seems that every time I create a new niche site, it doesn't become successful and get high in the SERPS for at least 4 months to a year. This is of course because of the Google sandbox effect with newly registered domains. If I bought an aged domain related to my niche, would that be a good way to bypass this sandbox? Im new to transferring domains so Im not sure if this would work. I just want to be able to buy a one year old domain or so, add content and start link building to get results quickly, instead of waiting 6 months. Does this work? Thanks in advance for any help.
buying aged domains is not necessary. if you just build links gradually, you wont be experiencing sanbox.
I tend to disagree in my experience. I have tried sending only 1 or 2 quality links to new sites, and they still will not rank for around 6 months or so, and that wait period is very annoying. Sometimes that doesn't happen, so I think it depends upon the niche, and maybe the IP address you are on. But if someone transferred me a domain, would Google would still consider it aged? Or would it start new again in Googles eyes? And also, when a site/domain is transferred to someone, the PR generally stays the same right? even though the IP address will change?
Yea I think that tends to help. It sucks waiting since you just want to get up the SERPS fast as possible. Thahy I just ts wwish I knew if buying an older domain could bypass this.
Aged domains do have an advantage but it is not necessary. This sandbox effect is a myth, if I buy a site today and load it with new content and keep cranking out content for 30 days then I will get visitors, simple as that.
Your domain will be sent to sandbox if you make excessive SEO, example you have 1 month domain with 10K backlinks. As I read an ebook, a domain with min 4 years of age is good to avoid the sandbox.
Google always has it's own trick every now and then. So what can we really do? I suggest if you site is new, do not do excessive SEO instead, post quality content in your website. Earn Google's trust first before doing promotions. Also, remember that the sandbox only affects competitive keywords - optimize your articles to target long tail keywords - you will start to rank for them quickly. Do SEO in a "natural" way and you won't be needing an aged domain.
Older domain names can help with avoiding the sandbox. If it already has several years of age to it, and has already been in the sandbox before you should not have a problem with it getting into the search engines.
