Craigslist users may be familiar with flagging. It is like a censorship of Craigslist postings. An inappropriate or illegal post can be labeled as ‘spam’ and will be deleted. This mostly happens when somebody finds that your post is offensive or categorized brazenly. Also someone can flag an ad of their competitors and decrease the number of competitors or competition.
Following are some tips how to avoid flagging:
-Select the category wisely. Always post your ad in a category that best fits your ad. Think twice before categorizing the ad.
-Always check that the title of the ad is matching or having some relation with the category as well as its theme.
-If the posts are in categories other than the services offered section, try to make the ads look natural.
-Always try to post ads that are unique in title and body.
Normally flagging of Ads are related to some particular posts only. In most cases it has nothing to do with the account. In such cases the accounts remain valid and posting of new Ads is possible. When you post your next ad, try to avoid the mistakes you committed last time which resulted in flagging.

People on CL are flag-happy, even with legitimate ads, and it's rather annoying when you're legitimately posting something for sale in your area, in the appropriate section, and somebody flags it down.

Yes, CL is rapidly becoming unusable for this reason. Only seeing their traffic plummet will let them see the foolishness of letting people hack and slash each other's ads without moderation.

Yeah its impossible to post on CL unless your a spammer, all legitimate ads are flagged down. Its only spammers that are able to put up 100 at a time using software that get any of the ads to stick.

I agree...posting ads on CL is a big waste of time. I got an Extractulater CL Pro to counter the problem and now "Reply To" any section I want to target market.
