I recently saw Google Webster Tools : And then a sub category called HTML suggestions. Nothing was actually duplicate but it flagged some content as duplicate and I was laughing why lol. There was this, website.com/?p=927 website.com/?p=927?ftr=vidpgurl Now as we can see post id is same and yet it is duplicate. I don't really know what ftr=vidpgurl is to be honest lol. I have 12 such links have ftr=vidpgurl and are considered as duplicate. I just wanted to know how to avoid this ? Of course the way is through webmaster tools. A way I had in mind is, There is something in Google Webmaster tools under Site Configuration > Settings > Parameters . Now I can see we can manually ignore some parameters. But I don't know how to add this paramater and what could be the possible syntax of it if this is really a possible way of removing this ?
Can your CMS include a canonical URL (after ignoring all random parameters)? That should serve the purpose.
