The following niches should be avoided if you want to get higher CTR... make money online seo webmaster tools web development web programming and web design domain and hosting anything related to online moneymaking and webmaster Why? because people who visits the above niche websites are mostly the same people who are running adsense ads and we all know that people like us are seldom click adsense ads... On the other hand, casual web surfers looking for specific things like medicine, home equipment, cures for diseases, baby products, and others are always clicking ads... You may not agree with me but that's the fact... Doctors, construction workers, drivers, dentists, engineers, teachers, and others don't know anything about adsense so they always click ads.... My boxing blog, although a low-paying niche is getting 45% to 70% CTR from search engine and even boxing forum traffic... boxing fans too don't know anything about adsense so they keep on clicking boxing-related ads... 30 to 60 clicks @ 20 cent is still better at $12/day than having a high-paying niche with no clicks at all Hope this post is useful to you..... PS: Please don't post nonsense response here just to promote your signature...
One of my sites created for clickbank products (has adsense too), has an average of 800 daily visits and the average daily click is 1 or 2.. while my "mud flaps" site having an average of 150 visitors daily is having an average of 20 to 25 clicks... see the difference.... both sites have the same theme and placement... LOL Adsense is all about the niche and not about traffic....
I would surely agree with this thread. This a topic well brought to light. Not just that we don't click ads so often but another thing that makes this niche so competitive is the number of professionals we compete with. If you had two websites, namely in the 'beer' and 'seo' niche, i bet the competitors in the beer niche would not be as difficult to defeat as in the seo niche.
On the other hand. People who run these and visit these sites can be targeted for something different right...
it really boils down to finding a good niche. you'll really have to sit down and research on the niche as well as the target visitors. the sad thing about it is that most of the time, the niche that would potentially generate enough clicks is something that you do not have passion on. @TS, nice name. haha.
Even if you have passion with your selected niche, there's a lot of articles you can rewrite so this should not be a problem...
That's interesting. I should try to get more teachers, doctors etc to my blogs. Hopefully the lengthy post will bored them to death, and they can click on the ad to get out
I'm not sure I agree with you saying money making sites don't get many clicks. My money making forum has a good ctr and pay's higher than other sites I have owned. I think the trick to getting clicks is your ad placement and blending of ads to your site's layout.
Exactly right Titing Kabayo all these niche users have a complete knowledge of Adsense so they will not click on Ads. Other niche users have no knowledge about the Adsense or Ads Program so they have high CTR ratio. Thanks for sharing
I agree with your point on "webmaster, seo" related keywords. However "make money online" seems to have a broad audience so it shouldnt be a problem i guess.
